2021 Viognier, Wyldvin Vineyard

2021 Viognier, Wyldvin Vineyard

Dry Creek Valley

Morning fog from the Pacific Ocean tempers warm summer days, the Wyldvin Vineyard has a great balance of maritime and inland climates. Nestled among heritage oak and olive trees, this vineyard is over 30 years old. This Viognier is a classically fine-formed white that is aromatic and expressive.

TASTING NOTE:  Crafted in the traditional northern Rhône style, with a new world edge, this supple and balanced wine was French-Oak aged after being stainless-steel fermented. This lively white opens in a flourish of honeysuckle and lychee. On the palate melon and green tea intermingle with flavors of fresh-cut grass and orchard fruit. The finish has a rich nutty quality buffered by juicy pineapple and vanilla cream.

FOOD PAIRING:  Viognier is a wonderful wine to pair with aromatic spices like star anise, cardamom, or ginger. Due to its floral aromas and rich texture, we recommend enjoying our
Viognier with Vietnamese or Thai food, both are delicious choices to serve with this wine.

AWARDS & REVIEWS
92 points  |  Wine Enthusiast Magazine |  2014 Louvau Vineyard Viognier
This 100% varietal wine makes the case for Viognier in this appellation, expressing Golden Delicious apple and pear around a fresh, medium build of viscous texture, lemon and wild honey.  Pretty and aromatic, it's a classically fine-formed white, made in small quantities.
