2022 Sangiovese, Speedy Creek Vineyard
TASTING NOTES
The bucolic Knight’s Valley AVA is nestled next to the eastern edges of Alexander Valley and Chalk Hill regions. The 2021 Sangiovese from the Speedy Creek Vineyard is an excellent representation of this noble varietal from Tuscany. On the nose, aromas of ripe cherry, plum, and pastry with notes of cigar box flow from the glass. Flavors of boysenberry, black currant, vanilla, and black pepper please the palate. This wine is round and satisfying offering a lively mouthfeel and a long satisfying finish. Drink now through 2030.
SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRING
The natural acidity of this varietal lends itself to hearty classic dishes like wood fired pizzas or pasta with rich tomato sauces. Mushrooms have a particular affinity for this varietal and a creamy mushroom risotto will make this wine shine at the dinner table. APPELLATION: Knight’s Valley
