Originally grown in the Rhone wine region of France, Roussanne is a primary component in the white wines of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Roussanne drinks very well as a young wine but will develop more complexity and depth if aged 7-8 years.
TASTING NOTES
Originally from France’s northern Rhône, Roussanne thrives in California’s warm, dry climate. Sourced from Dry Creek Valley, this wine benefits from a long growing season that allows for ideal ripening. Aromas of fresh pineapple, nectarine, pear, and honeysuckle are complemented by subtle minerality. The palate is bright and focused, with flavors of green apple, pear, and a hint of lime, carried by crisp, cleansing acidity and a lively finish.
SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRING
This refreshing Roussanne pairs beautifully with grilled halibut, lemon herb chicken, or shrimp with citrus and olive oil. It also complements fresh salads, goat cheese, and light Mediterranean dishes, making it an excellent choice for warm-weather dining and easy entertaining.
