Meadowcroft Wines By Tom Meadowcroft
Meadowcroft is the namesake of Winegrower Tom Meadowcroft. The meaning of Meadowcroft is a fertile field or meadow and croft refers to a cultivated area that has been nurtured over time. The honeybee on the label symbolizes this conscientious work and the process of transformation from wine grapes into outstanding wine.
Who We Are
Tom’s passion for wines stems from his experiences growing up, working and traveling in Europe and the United States. Early in life, he began his journey in winemaking by working the harvest of 1979 in Bordeaux. Following that harvest he studied at UC Davis and Napa College graduating with a degree in Viticulture and Enology. After earning his degrees, he worked in Napa and Washington State as a vineyard Manager focusing on sustainable farming and environmental advocacy. Throughout his career, Tom has managed dozens of properties for top wineries in Napa and Sonoma, all along instilling core principals relating to wine cultivation from the growing of wines to the making of the wines. These experiences inspire his vision for the Meadowcroft Wine he proudly makes today.
Wine runs deep in Petar’s family. At a very young age, he was helping his father craft wine in his family home in Bulgaria. His passion for winemaking led him to pursue his Master’s degree in Winemaking at the University of Food Technologies. After graduating and working in Bulgaria, Petar was selected for a prestigious internship at Truchard Vineyards in Napa Valley. Keen to develop his winemaking skills at an elite level, Petar took the plunge and left his home in Bulgaria for California’s most famous wine region, Napa Valley.
Petar brings over fifteen years of experience as a Winemaker and has thirteen vintages of creating luxury Napa and Sonoma wines. From grape to glass, Petar maintains a hands on approach to winemaking drawing out the best in each wine. Petar enjoys all our Meadowcroft wines, but if he had to choose a favorite he’d lean towards our Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa or one of our delicious Sonoma County Zinfandels. When he is not working at the winery, Petar enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter as well as getting outside to run, swim, or even play soccer.

Ryan was born and raised in Seattle. Having grown up West of WA wine country, he didn’t explore the wine industry until 2018 when Tom Meadowcroft recommended that he work a harvest gig in Walla Walla. After having spent 3 years studying political science in college, he needed a break to sort things out and so he packed up and moved to Eastern Washington. Following that initial harvest in 2018, he moved back to Seattle and enrolled in winemaking classes at the Northwest Wine Academy. After two more harvests, different wine jobs, and a pandemic, Ryan moved to Sonoma County to work for Meadowcroft. He is an essential part of winery operations, ensuring smoothness and efficiency in the production of fine wine. At twenty-five years of age, he has worked with fruit from some of the finest vineyards in Washington and California, including the Red Mountain AVA, Mt. Veeder, and many other premier growing regions in Napa and Sonoma. When he is not working, he enjoys the outdoors, reading, and of course having a nice glass of red wine. His favorite Meadowcroft red is the Cabernet Sauvignon from Dry Creek Valley. He also makes wines under his own label: RY VINTNERS.

Mount Veeder Vineyard
With over thirty-five years of experience in viticulture and winemaking, Tom Meadowcroft knows dirt. Or better yet, soil. He can easily judge what makes a vineyard great. He enjoys discovering farmers with small vineyards throughout California that are producing amazing grapes and interesting varieties. He’s quick to identify these little-known gems and produce extraordinary small production wines.
This experience led Tom to discover our estate vineyard on Mount Veeder in Napa.
