2024 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Tom Meadowcroft says that the key to a quality Cabernet Sauvignon begins in the vineyard with careful and patient farming. He calls this type of viticulture “four wheel drive farming” as opposed to a more lax “two wheel drive” approaches.
TASTING NOTES
Cabernet Sauvignon thrives in Napa Valley’s diverse microclimates, where warm days and cool evenings allow for optimal ripening and structure development. The 2024 vintage opens with expressive aromas of Amarena cherry, black plum, and hints of white pepper. The palate is layered with dark, concentrated flavors of black cherry, blackberry, and blueberry, complemented by subtle mineral notes. Firm tannins and pronounced acidity provide structure, balance, and age-worthy depth.
SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRING
This structured Cabernet pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, or lamb with rosemary. It also complements aged cheeses, mushroom dishes, and rich, savory preparations, making it an excellent choice for hearty meals and special occasions.
