2018 Cabernet Franc, Rivino Vineyard
Mendocino County
Meadowcroft’s first vintage of Rivino Mendocino Cabernet Franc is sourced from a boutique, 100% family-owned estate vineyard farmed and nestled on the edge of the Russian River in Mendocino, California. Rivino is a combination of the words: River and Vino: “Where the river becomes the wine.”
TASTING NOTE: A varietal most often used to enhance other red varietals with a touch of spice, herbal lift, or rich depth of fruit, Cab Franc is rarely produced as a single varietal. Our Rivino Vineyard Cabernet Franc features aromas of black cherries, wet earth, eucalyptus, and pink peppercorns. The palate is precise, layered flavors of wild berries, fennel, spice, and a hint of savoriness, finishing with a hint of cocoa nib. Drink now or cellar until 2030
FOOD PAIRING: The high acidity and medium tannins in this wine make it ideal for pairing with tomato-based sauces, traditional BBQ, and fresh herbs. A great choice to serve alongside roasted poultry and grilled meats, as well as rich vegetarian fare like lentil stew.
