2019 Sangiovese, Speedy Creek Vineyard
Tasting Note: The mountain-grown fruit sourced for this rich wine is cultivated on volcanic soils, resulting in intense red fruit aromatics and flavors. Layers of strawberries, red cherries, and ripe plum are framed by savory hints of tomato and tea leaf. The finish is plush, with bright acidity, firm tannins, and an extended suggestion of vanilla and baking spice. Drink now through 2024.
Food Pairing: Due to the vibrant acidity and substantial tannins in this wine, it is extraordinarily food-friendly. Serve with cured meats and aged cheeses, grilled vegetables, or anything Italian- inspired. Copping is a fantastic match because its tomato base, fresh herbs, and rich seafood.
