2020 Cru de la Ruche Malbec
Clements Hill, San Joaquin Valley
The name Cru de la Ruche, meaning vintage of the beehive, is a nod to our connection to the honeybee and its amazing ability to transform nectar into honey paralleling the transformation from grapes to wine.
TASTING NOTE: The rich flavors, full body and firm tannins make this wine distinctive and truly special. Aromas of blackberry pie, vanilla custard and sweet tobacco lead to bold red fruit notes of black cherry, with underpinnings of cocoa and red plum. Expect exquisite complexity, extraordinary structure and a decadent, chocolaty finish that is both precise and smooth.
FOOD PAIRING: Malbec is a classic pairing for vibrant flavors and rich sauces. Game meats, like venison or bison, pair well because of their lean fat content. Looking for a perfect cheese pairing with Malbec? Try blue cheese!
