2021 Chardonnay, Vino Del Sol Vineyard

2021 Chardonnay, Vino Del Sol Vineyard

Sonoma Coast

The Sonoma Coast AVA extends from San Pablo Bay to the border with Mendocino County. The appellation is known for its cool climate and high rainfall relative to other parts of Sonoma County. Close to the Pacific, with more than twice the annual rainfall of its inland neighbors, it’s warm enough to ripen wine grapes because most vineyards are above the fog line.

TASTING NOTES:  Showcases vibrant notes of tropical fruit and green apple on the nose. The palate is medium, with fresh flavors of lychee, grapefruit, ripe cantaloupe, and vanilla bean. The finish lingers delightfully with notes of apple strudel and suggestions of baking spice.

FOOD PAIRING:  We love this clean, complex chardonnay with fresh dishes like ceviche, Ahi tuna tartare, buttered crab, and crusty sourdough bread. Serve chilled with salads and young cheeses, or at room temperature with richer dishes and aged cheeses. A versatile and complex wine is a great cellar staple.
