2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, Mt. Veeder
Perched high above Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder is known for its rugged terrain, volcanic soils, and vineyards that cling to steep slopes between 600 and 2,400 feet in elevation. This AVA produces Cabernet Sauvignons of exceptional structure, deep minerality, and vibrant acidity, shaped by cooler temperatures and limited yields.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2022 Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon offers a layered and elegant expression of its mountain origins. Aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, and baking spices are accented by notes of sour cherry and a hint of espresso. On the palate, rich flavors of black cherry, dark fig, black plum, and blueberry unfold over a foundation of firm tannins and pronounced minerality. This wine is built for aging and will develop beautifully through 2042.
SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRING
This Cabernet’s mountain-grown intensity pairs perfectly with robust dishes such as herb-crusted rack of lamb, grilled venison, or slow-braised beef short ribs. Vegetarian pairings like truffle-infused wild mushroom pasta or roasted root vegetables with rosemary bring out its earthy complexity. For a cheese pairing, try aged Pecorino, sharp Cheddar, or a smoky Gouda.
