2022 Pinot Blanc, Rivino Vineyard
Mendocino County
Primarily produced as a single varietal in Alsace in northeast France and the Alto Adige region of Italy, Pinot Blanc is the white counterpart to Pinot Noir. Very delicate, with tightly packed clusters on the vine, this grape variety results in light, refreshing wines that easily showcase winemaking style and terroir. This limited production, vintage is a special release.
TASTING NOTES: Fresh from start to finish, this enchanting wine begs to be paired with food. Upfront, aromas of orange blossom, hints of perfume, and lychee are framed by an undercurrent of subtle spice. A full-bodied white wine with a rich mouthfeel and soft acidity. On the palate the wine expresses flavors of honey, apricot and golden apple.
FOOD PAIRING: Pinot Blanc calls for fresh oysters or steamed mussels. Well-matched with chicken or fish, this varietal would be perfect for both brunch and lunch fare. Or, try with a recent favorite - fresh fettucine with lemon cream sauce.
