Anniversary Cuvée – California
55% Cabernet Sauvignon | 35% Merlot | 10% Petit Verdot
This special-production Bordeaux-style red blend is a non-vintage cuvée, an intentional choice inspired by Tom Meadowcroft’s formative years in France. Much like fine Champagne and Port, blending across vintages allows the winemaker to select individual wines for how beautifully they work together, rather than being defined by a single harvest year.
Cabernet Sauvignon brings structure, depth, and backbone to the blend, while Merlot adds richness, softness, and supple texture. Petit Verdot contributes vibrant color, spice, and intensity, bringing additional dimension and length to the finished wine.
The wine opens with layered aromas of dark berry compote, black licorice, and subtle savory notes. On the palate, it is supple and polished, revealing flavors of brambly dark fruit, espresso, and hints of graphite, framed by well-integrated tannins. A long, expressive finish lingers with touches of spice and ripe raspberry.
SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRING
This elegant and complex Bordeaux-style red blend pairs beautifully with leaner, savory proteins such as duck or pork. Its gentle spice and balanced acidity complement tomatoes, spicy greens, and Italian-inspired dishes, while its youthful structure makes it a natural partner for grilled cuts of red meat.
