2020 Melange Red Blend, Dry Creek Valley

Meadowcroft Wines has never created a blend sourced exclusively from Dry Creek Valley and featuring more than 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, primarily Clone 1103, from Wyldvin Vineyard (previously Louvau Vineyard). Planted over 30 years ago, this picturesque ranch bordered by both olive and majestic oak trees is 28 acres of premium benchland vineyards planted on Manzanita loam soil. “Mélange Red Blend” is a representation of the art of winemaking, how different varietals are mindfully incorporated in order to create something truly special and one-of-a-kind.

 

TASTING NOTES:  Meadowcroft uses Old World techniques and New World creativity in order to make superb wines that showcase the excellence of the fruit. Tom produces very small quantities of wine, focusing on the composition details of each lot to create wines that showcase the fruit and growing region. “Mélange Red Blend” delivers with upfront aromas of blackberry jam and plum, buttressed by underpinnings of jammy, dark fruit flavors. The palate is rich and complex, with warm clove and cinnamon spice. The finish is sumptuous, with lingering mocha and traces of vanilla from the 25% French oak used in aging.
